William Gabella

My father-in-law is a retired Army officer who served two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. After he ended his military career, he went to law school, and remains active in a number of areas.

He is the founder of the Bring Back the Drop Kick Society.

Flight Journal magazine published his article, "Case of the Missing Rotor System," detailing a Vietnam helicopter crash investigation he conducted in 1967. (February 1998, pages 84 to 88.)

Flight Journal magazine published his account of flying helicopters in Saudi Arabia, "Invisible Squadron at Mecca: Copter pilots help retake Mosque." The article focuses on the seizure of the Grand Mosque at Mecca by fundamentalists, and its recovery in bloody fighting by the Saudi government forces. (December 1998, pages 81 to 84.)
